The Western Ohio Warriors – Dayton’s Premiere Youth Lacrosse Club

As the popularity of lacrosse has grown throughout the country, it was hard to ignore the need for quality coaching and opportunities to improve our players’ skills and understanding of the game. As a result,  the Western Ohio Warriors Lacrosse Club was established in the Summer of 2013.

Now recognized as one of the premiere travel lacrosse teams in the Dayton area, the Western Ohio Warriors (WOW) continues with it’s goal to offer the very best in lax coaching, player visibility on a national level, as well as developing the leadership and teamwork concepts necessary to play the game at any level. Our travel lacrosse teams consist of boys in the 2024/2025 (JV) and 2022/2023 (Varsity) age groups and a Girls Varsity HS team.

Filling the Needs of Area Lacrosse Players

Dayton Youth lacrosseAt the time WOW was created, there were no travel team options in the Dayton area. Most players were required to travel into the Cincinnati area to participate in competitive tournaments. The Warriors created a U13 team and competed in three tournaments in our first year, having success at all three – never finishing with a losing record. The families all had a terrific time, the boys increased their skill and knowledge bases and we were successful on the field.

WOW has participated in tournaments in TN, KY, OH, PA, NC, MD, GA, and MI.  Playing against teams from FL, GA, SC, NC, MD, PA, NY, OH, MI, KY, TN, IN and IL.  In December 2019 we had two teams in the Boathouse National Championship tournament in Orlando, FL.
Highlights include:
  • U15 winning Ohio Machine’s Laxfest
  • 2nd Place in OSU HS Tourney (played in the Shoe)
  • Two Teams in National Championships
  • Summer of 2017
  • HS Boys traveled to Europe to represent the USA
    • Played 5 teams, in 5 countries, and going undefeated!
  • HS Boys finished 4th, 3rd and 3rd (missing Pipe City Championship game by 1 goal in overtime)
  • HS Boys traveled to Europe to represent the USA
  • Graduated Warriors have gone on to play in college:  Muskingham, Capital, University of the Cumberlands, Lincoln Memorial University, and Otterbein.

We now field 2024/2025 boys, 2022/2023 boys, and high school girls teams.  The future definitely looks bright for our area players, who all benefit from the personal training with not only our experienced coaching staff, but also ex-collegiate players who definitely add their own unique experiences and techniques with our kids.

If your son or daughter is looking to increase her/his lacrosse skills and knowledge, play highly competitive opponents, improve their visibility on a national level AND have fun doing it – WOWLAX is the place to do it all!
